The school administration preaches about doing the best for their students and “success” for what they need to graduate. But when I asked multiple times to get my schedule change to a higher level of English for my transcript and so it would look better for colleges, they told me no and could not give me a reason as to why. I tried getting my parents involved and they still refused to and still have no reason why, yet they still have a students schedules being adjusted ...thanks for doing the best for me South Gwinnett
As a parent I give this school a 1.. teachers have their favorites and that goes for academic wise and sports... this school is more worried about getting money then these kids actually going somewhere. A teacher thought she was getting my daughter in trouble saying she was skipping all day... she said I see that she checked in this morning late but she did not show up to my class so I politely said "ma'am my daughter has been home in bed all day sick"... she had nothing to say. She cheered at this school for 2 years 3rd year she wasnt chosen I can see if she wasn't good and they chose girls that were actually good but looking at the team it was based off of favoritism.. I must say my other daughter will NOT be attending this school. This school is just all messed up all the way around the board... I feel so bad for these kids. They love their school and half the staff could care less about them or their futures.
school is trash, just go to Grayson or Brookwood. people here are cool ig but its not worth it. admin is so annoying especially Bernie. bernie always talking about "proud to be" but there is nothing to be proud of at south gwinnett. all sports teams are full of scrubs except for football. half the teachers here don't know how to teach (mainly underclassmen teachers)
I started going here a month and a half ago. I can say some teachers care, but most don't. Many kids don't graduate, and it's way worse than Dekalb. The counselors look at kids like they're stupid. I feel as though you have to earn respect whether you're a teacher or the president. I respect people, and I expect the same in return.
I am highly disgusted with the system at this school. My son could not start school on time after withdrawing because no one sent his records over to the new school. The front desk could not give his transcript or disciplinary record to the new school in the absence of the registrar all week. I left messages and received no call back. I went to the school and was told there was nothing that could be done and that the Principal was unavailable. I was placed on hold for long periods of time and the phone would hang up after ringing back several times and the front desk did not pick up. Poor phone etiquette and poor customer service. This is my son last year and he can't attend the new school because they have been waiting over two weeks and this is the third week for South Gwinnett to send his transcript and disciplinary records. They were in the office last week and today and I still have not heard from anyone and the front desk stated the Principal is taking no calls so I told her to send me to the voicemail like she sent me to the registrar voicemail again who has not returned my call in two weeks and they wonder why parents get upset. They clearly do not show the importance of the child getting his education and being in compliance. Disgusted parent is who I am right now.
